This is your Movement Magic guide,

In this Course, we are going to be discussing the importance of movement in your daily practices and what it can do for you.

I begin my divinely guided days with the intention to incorporate movement. Movement does not have to be advanced or aggressive to serve its purpose of power. This can be as simple as going for a walk, stretching in the grass, playing with pets, cleaning your space, dancing in your room, or riding a bike. Small movements can create large habits in the grand scheme and generate the lifting of your spirits.

Movement is beneficial for our general well being and happiness. The Movement is our medicine and what we require as human beings in order to reach our peak in our Physical and Functional Health. The Medicine for Wellness is what we create inside of us in our day to day lifestyle. The Holistic Approach to Wellness is to curate time in nature and having what I like to call “Intentional Movement.”

The way I began my intentional glow-up stemmed from getting comfortable with movement. Getting back into this after putting it off for a while began with light cardio. I despised cardio at one point. I never was interested in it, until a few years later I decided to start taking mindful walks while either playing a podcast, listening to sound frequency, calling a loved one, or just listening to my surroundings. My peak time to do so is in the morning before or immediately after work. I now practice pilates as another form of my routine. This formed the structure I was lacking. Once I formed this intentional movement I was doing 3-mile walks and was excited to do them. Eventually, I set a goal to do a 5K and completed it, next goal for me is a half marathon (never thought I’d be saying that).

Next was Pilates. I found myself not getting the results I wanted from other fitness remedies. My close friend Tara talked me into trying Pilates. Pilates changed my universe and kicked my glow up into gear. I have tried so many other physical activities but the results that this gave me I cannot fathom. As my love for pilates grew, the 20+ lbs melted off that I had been trying to lose for years and I transformed my gut health. I wake up everyday feeling refreshed, took control of my body dysmorphia, recognized strength I didn’t know I had, saw improvement within each practice, and changed my entire lifestyle because of how dedicated I was with this new love of mindful movement and the feeling it gave me. I have studied Joseph's Pilates method numerous times and have completed the research to back it up. His approach passed down from generations has added what I was lacking in my life.

I’m finding joy using ClassPass and trying new approaches to the mind and body world such as barre and sound meditation. The main takeaway I want to leave you with as you go about your day is to remain conscious of using your body in all that you do. Remaining grateful to do simple tasks is something we take for granted, so start now. I create movement in my days because I want to be able to do activities I love for the rest of my life.

Moving is medicine.

What will you do today to add movement into your day?
